Aaron Spjute Aaron Spjute — Director — Aaron has an MFA in Staging Shakespeare from the University of Exeter. His directing credits with WSF include The Complete Works of William Shakespeare: Abridged (2015), The Taming of the Shrew (2014), and A Midsummer Nights Dream (2013). He also co-directs Stages, a devised theatre summer camp with Fresno County Superintendent of Schools. After working as a theatre instructor at Fresno City College for several years, he is now teaching English and Drama at McLane High School.
Renee Newlove Renee Newlove — Isabella — Renee has worked with the Woodward Shakespeare Festival off and on since year 1. You have recently seen her in many previous productions including: MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (ensemble), OTHELLO (Montano), TWELFTH NIGHT (Viola), ROSENCRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD (Rosencrantz), HAMLET (Rosencrantz), THE COMPLETE WORKS OF SHAKESPEARE ABRIDGED, REVISED (Renee), TWO GENTLEMAN OF VERONA (Outlaw), RICHARD III (Elizabeth), TAMING OF THE SHREW (Christopher Sly), and MACBETH (Lennox). Renee recently made her directorial debut in The Soap Co’s production of THE TEMPEST. She has also worked with College of the Sequoias in their production of TARTUFFE (Madam Pernelle) and HeyDay Productions’ performance of FRANKLY AUTO-CORRECT I’M TIRED OF YOUR SHIRT! (Renee) in the 2018 Rogue Performance Festival. Renee also works for WSF by sitting on the Board as well as heading up the Library Reading program. She really loves to cut the plays and work with Shakespeare’s language. This production has been her pet project for years and she is thrilled to finally have it go to production. She really hopes you enjoy the show!
Jocelyne Harmony — Officer — Jocelyne returns to the stage after a 10 year hiatus from the theatrical stage. During her time at Roosevelt School of the Arts she was a backstage member for shows such as CINDERELLA, HUSH:AN INTERVIEW WITH AMERICA, SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS, LUCKY STIFF, and was stage manager for their production of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING. She was last seen on stage in their production of the THE PHILADELPHIA STORY (May). In her time off stage she has become an active member of the Geek Fashion Show and does runways in geeky fashion up and down California. She would like to thank Renee Newlove for welcoming her back to the stage for this production and to all who have encouraged her to keep moving forward.
Suzanne Grazyna Suzanne Grażyna — Mariana — Suzanne was just seen this summer in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (Leonato) for WSF. Her previous Woodward Shakes shows include THE TAMING OF THE SHREW (Petruchio), A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM (Hermia), RICHARD III (Tyrrel), and INHERIT THE WIND (Sarah Brady). She has also appeared this year in THE HEIRESS (Catherine Sloper) for GCP, and SCHOOL OF FISH (Parker Ellison-Hayes) for the Rogue Festival. Laura Dodds Heather Roberts — Vincentio “The Duke” & Friar Lodowick  — Classically trained in both voice and theater, Heather is excited to be returning to the stage after a 16-year hiatus.
Heather Roberts Laura Dodds — Mistress Overdone — Laura is excited to work with WSF again after making her debut this summer in OTHELLO (Emilia). She has also performed with Fresno Grand Opera in Les Miserables (ensemble).
LaVon Jean-Pierre LaVon Jean-Pierre — Claudio — LaVon was recently seen in WSF production of Othello; as the titled character. He is currently working and gaining as much experience as as possible through community theater, school and life to prepare himself for the future opportunities that are to come his way.
Sarah Smith Sarah Smith — Provost — Sara is so excited for you to see this production of Measure for Measure. Sara recently came back to the stage after taking much of her adult life off. Previously, Sara played Maude Dunlap in The Music Man with Sanger’s Blossom Trail Players and Antonio in The Tempest for the Woodward Shakespeare Festival. Thank you for coming and enjoy the show!
Kathie Mollica — Escalus — Kathie’s first experience in the world of theater was as a costumer for WSF’s Taming of the Shrew. Her first role was as the maid in The New Ensembles Hedda Gabler, directed by Heather Parrish. She has also played The Undertaker’s Woman in Good Company Players A Christmas Carol. Director Dan Pessano. Gonzalo in Tempest directed by Renee Newlove, and Oswald in King Lear directed by Broderick Beard. She’s excited about being a part of this production of Measure For Measure.
Jay Parks Jay Parks — Angelo — WSF audiences have seen Jay in several productions since the second season. Favorites include TITUS ANDRONICUS (Titus), JULIUS CAESAR (Brutus), both productions of MACBETH (Banquo, MacDuff), HAMLET (Claudius), and RICHARD III (Buckingham). Jay has also been seen in the Fresno premiere of Annie Baker’s CIRCLE MIRROR TRANSFORMATION (Schultz) at Vista Theater, WAITING FOR LEFTY at Fresno City College (Fatt), and the local premiere of TAPE (Vince) at Fresno Soap Company. Jay has worked extensively with Theatre Ventoux as well, playing roles in ROMEO & JULIET (Friar Lawrence), HAMLET (Polonious), and KING LEAR (Cornwall).
Patrick Wall Patrick Wall — Pompey — Patrick Wall has his Ed.S in school psychology and his bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in theatre from Cal Poly Pomona. While at Cal Poly, Patrick acted in multiple plays including a production of War of the Worlds. Measure for Measure is Patrick’s first production since graduating from Cal Poly.
Jonathan Wheeler Jonathan Wheeler — Elbow —Jonathan has performed across the Central Valley with various companies. Most notable roles include Clyde in BONNIE AND CLYDE THE MUSICAL with the Ice House Theater, Dean in ALL SHOOK UP with Good Company Players, Marius Pontmercy in LES MISERABLES with Reedley Opera House, Anthony in SWEENEY TODD with Reedley Opera House, Huey in MEMPHIS with Reedley Opera House, Billy in 42nd STREET with Good Company Players, Conrad Birdie in BYE BYE BIRDIE with Good Company Players, Munkustrap in CATS with Good Company Players, Kenickie in GREASE with Children’s Musical Theater, Scrooge in SCROOGE THE MUSICAL with Cornerstone Theater Company, and Rolf in THE SOUND OF MUSIC with Good Company Players. Janice Sales Janice Sales — Stage Manager — This is Janice’s first year as part of the Woodward Shakespeare Festival. Janice was recently seen in this season’s production of OTHELLO (Brabantio). She has performed in Fresno State’s production of Vagina Monologues and is stretching her creative wings in MEASURE for MEASURE (Stage Manager). Tori Litchi Tori Litchi — US Cast/Lighting — Tori is excited to be a part of this production of Measure for Measure. She has been involved with Woodward Shakespeare for several years as an actor, stage manager, and most recently as a board member.
